Osteopath and acupuncturist : based in Luton, helping to treat pain and injuries

What Is Osteopathy?

  • Osteopathy is the name given to the healing art laying its main emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the body, using massage and manipulation as its main tool in the treatment of restoring the body to normal healthy state. .
  • Osteopaths concern themselves with the mechanical workings of the body.
  • Osteopathy takes advantage of the body's natural tendency to strive toward a state of health and homeostasis. A much in demand specialty.
  • The Osteopath is trained to palpate (feel) the body's "living anatomy" (i.e. flow of fluids, motion and texture of tissues, and structural makeup) it is my job to detect diagnose and repair any faults in the muscular-skeletal system, amazingly where you feel your pain may not necessarily be where the problem lies..

Will it Hurt?
Different Osteopaths work in different ways. Some perform the massage work very gently, others more strongly. We endevour to ensure that the treatments are not too unpleasant but are still effective. Manipulation is usually more of a shock than actually painful. A lot of the people we treat are in a lot of pain already, with difficulty moving. Obviously in those kind of situations, almost everything will hurt but we aim to reduce your pain, so you might get a momentary discomfort followed by the relief you want.
